Day 33 - First Day San Fran
Good Morning San Fran!! Once we got up and ready, we went straight to the city to check out the famous… La Taqueria! We heard good reviews from several people so we decided to check it out! What makes them famous is the fact that they don’t put any rice in their burritos so it is just the meat, beans, cilantro and whatever add ons you want! I also learned that if you ask for it “dorado style” they through the burrito on the grill to make it extra crispy on the outside almost like a panini! Jonah got the Chorizo and I got the Carne Asada.. both tasty! We were entertained by a man playing the accordion. Even though it was 11:45am, the place was packed!! I felt a little sick after since I usually don’t eat burritos but we walked it off..
Next we stopped at an Organic coffee shop where we got a cute cappuccino. As we walked around we saw some sweet street art and checked out some trendy stores..
All the walking made us quite thirsty so we stopped for a sip at Sidewalk Cafe for a mango berry smoothie!
I’ve been bugging Jonah about his crapped out shoes that have been slowly falling apart this whole trip so he decided to bite the bullet and get some new vans and luckily a good pair were on sale! I also got a pair of burkenstock shoes that were super comfy!
Later we went to Deloris Park where we got a nice view of the city. It was an interesting crowd with people smoking weed and drinking next to the cops and many men in thongs..
As night approached we met up with Jordan, Jonah’s college roommate and got some thai food! I got some Pad Thai.. not photographed but the chairs we sat on were in the shape of a women’s bum.. not sure how I felt about them..
After dinner we headed to Jordan’s apartment and got ready to go out to a friends birthday party at a bar. The bar was a cool place because outside we saw a pool and a motel surrounding it. There were lots of interesting sculptures out there too! It was a fun filled day with lots of exploring!
