Day 3 - Exploring Minneapolis
We woke up to a chilly Fall day, damn, September just started! Nina's kids got up and went to high school, so we ate breakfast then went around the corner to a local coffee shop to get a cup o' joe. ☕️
When we came back we got ready then head to the city of Minneapolis today. It was my first time there so I was excited to explore. Nina and Mike showed us around town and we had an awesome time. Our first stop was the Guthrie Theater. It was super modern and had a great view of the city. We went through a room called the "Amber Room" and another room with a super blue background.
Afterwards we walked over a curved bridge over the Mississippi River! I was super impressed with how historic, trendy and artsy the city was. Mike told us some cool facts on the history and we saw the historic 1879 Gold Medal Flour mill. The juxtaposition between the old and the new architecture was especially striking.
We went to lunch at Holyland and to our surprise Guy Fieri had just been there too. Huge portions and I still have a food baby... totally worth it though!
Lastly, we checked out the Sculpture Garden and it was way cooler than I thought it would be! There was a bunch of modern art, a giant blue rooster, an extra large 🍒 on a 🥄 and many other cool pieces. We headed back home to get some work done before another long day of travel.
