Day 40 - Sequoia
Today was a fun filled day in Sequoia! We got to see more very large trees along a hike we did…
Some of which we climbed into!! We even found a legit log cabin! That would have been cool to sleep in.
Jonah climbed on top of a super large log that looked like it had been there quite a while.
After our hike we drove around for quite some time to try and find a place to camp. We were just about to give up and find a motel or something when we cam across our most spectacular campsite yet. It was hidden off the side of a dirt road and smelled of pines and herbs.
We walked around the area where there was a little path and could see so far into the distance at our high elevation.
I made a quick dinner and we caught a really amazing sunset.
I even caught the sun on my hand! ;)
The sky turned into a dark orange and the sun slowly melted into the horizon until it disappeared beneath the mountains.
We decided to set up the tent with no cover on top so we could see the stars. They were shining so bright as we just gazed up for a good half hour. We both even caught a few shooting stars.
Tonight was a real highlight of the trip!
