Day 54 - Grand Canyon!
Last Spring when my family and Jonah went to Sedona, Arizona we were debating whether or not to go to the Grand Canyon and we decided we wanted to do a separate trip to see more of it than that trip allowed. Well funny enough, here we are and I didn’t think it would be so soon!
We started the morning with some coffee and breakfast sandwiches and made our way to get some scenic pictures.
By early afternoon we thought it would be a good idea to do a strenuous hike… called the “Bright Angel Trailhead.” It was rated moderate but it was pretty pretty hard.
The hike started descending 2,000 feet into the canyon! That part was really easy and you saw people with cheery smiles walking down the steps. I got a little nervous however when I saw the faces of the people climbing back up the trail.
The whole hike was pretty cool and scenic and I couldn’t believe how steep down we descended.
At the very bottom there was a bathroom and picnic area where we had lunch and I unfortunately got a bloody nose from the elevation.
We made it back to the top exhausted and ready for some sleep.
