Day 70 - Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday! 22! We woke up in the hotel in Houston, got a coffee to go, then went to a restaurant for brunch.

The restaurant was cute and was dog themed! Portions were huge and they kept filling Jonahs lemonade glass, he must have drank two pitchers worth.

After we made our way on a long drive to New Orleans to make it there in time to shower/ get ready for dinner.

Jonah surprised me and got a hotel room for two nights at a trendy hotel that used to be a factory. The place was called The Old No.77 Hotel and Chandlery. It had a very cute bar and restaurant off the lobby called Compere Lapin.

I got all ready, Jonah took some pictures of me, then we took a cab over to a special dinner at a restaurant called Coquette.

We had a 7 course meal with six wine pairings. It was a dining experience we have never experienced before and we both savored every moment. It was definitely one of our favorite meals on the trip, if not our favorite.

Our plan was to go out to a bar afterwards, although all that wine made me quite tipsy and sleepy so we went back to the hotel and enjoyed the rest of the night.
