Day 2 - From Sand Dunes to St. Paul

Day 2 - From Sand Dunes to St. Paul

I thought we would wake up early today but we got up kinda late. I guess that trip tired us out a little (or a lot) 😴

We had some yummy granola for breakfast, instant coffee and prepared lunch of yet another fried rice. We've been using ghee for our cooking which is great because it is lactose free and has a high cooking temp.

We packed our stuff up, and left the campground to check out Warren Dunes before our departure. I had never seen a dune so large, or a lake so vast. LM seriously looked like an ocean, too bad it was too cold to go swim.. Instead we climbed up the dune to get some cool shots and got a surprisingly good workout climbing that thing.

We decided to stop for a lunch in Chicago (well 2). I did some research to find food network rated food in the city and we decided I wanted to try some good bbq and Jonah wanted to try some deep dish pizza. We went to ___ and realized there was a 45 minute wait to try the deep dish pie. I asked how long for a slice? and the waitress said 8 minutes so it seemed like the obvious decision... it turned out to not be deep dish though... maybe next time.

Next we went to Smoque and I got a brisket sandwich. It was good but I can't wait to try the BBQ in the south side. We trudged our way another 6 hours or so until we reached Jonah's Aunt Nina's house in St. Paul Minnesota. On the way we drove into a pretty amazing sunset on the highway. We arrived late so we chatted for a bit then hit the couch.
