Day 41 - Big Sur
This morning we caught the most beautiful sunrise! We were awaken by birds flying overhead and chirping all around us. It is so cool how all the animals wake up and start singing as the sun starts to peak through.
Today was a big day to Big Sur so we hurried on out to Highway 1.
I was so amazed to see how turquoise the water was and awed to see how high up the Bixby Creek Bridge was. It almost looked like it was floating.
Our next stop was Nepenthe for lunch/ dinner where we ate some yummy food with an amazing view of the Pacific.
We stood where a luxurious home once stood with now only small remains after a demolition.
Too bad we couldn’t climb down to see the beautiful waterfall and put our feet in the water, but we still enjoyed the amazing view.
It was nearing sundown so we made our way to the Los Padres National Forest to try and find a campsite before dark.
Luckily we found an amazing spot at high elevation to see the sun set into the horizon. We met some interesting locals who gave us some random facts about the area, along with two pieces of jade one found on the shoreline.
